Giulia “Dulá” Razzolini M.D. encourages her patients to take an active role in their healthcare decisions and helping them to be the best advocate for themselves. After a visit with her, she wants her patients to feel heard. Dr. Dulȃ wants them to thoroughly understand what was discussed, the diagnosis, and what treatment options they have for care. She hopes they leave with a smile and a feeling that they’ve found a healthcare partner they can trust—an ally.

Dr. Dulá is passionate about caring for women, all things RVA and travel!  She loves the breadth of care she’s able to provide to her patients — from teen first visits to preventative well-woman annuals, pregnancy care, labor and delivery,  surgery when needed and last but certainly not least, helping women through menopause and beyond. When working with adolescents/teens, Dr. Dulá spends a lot of time educating and preparing them for what they can expect later in their personal health journey. She believes that knowing what to expect will make them less fearful or overwhelmed when the time comes for birth control conversations, pelvic exams and pap smears.

Dr. Dulá speaks fluent Italian and Spanish, and some Portuguese as well. As a woman of Latin American and Italian heritage, Dr. Dulá really enjoys connecting and working with women who don’t speak English as a first language. She knows that navigating foreign health care can be scary at times, and hopes to alleviate that stress for her patients.

When not caring for her patients, Dr. Dulá enjoys cooking and exploring her Italian heritage through the kitchen. An avid reader, she loves reading fiction and fantasy, including anything by her favorite author Sarah J. Maas. Her passion extends to TV shows and movies such as Star Wars. She attributes her love of Sci-fi to her years at MIT and admits she can probably never get too far from “nerdom,” and she’s okay with that. Dr. Dulá travels to Italy whenever her schedule permits to see her precious nonna (grandmother) and family.

Dr. Dulá received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Doctorate of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland Medical Systems. Active throughout her academic career, she served in leadership roles on committees as Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Dulá received numerous awards, including the Resident Teaching, Gold Humanism Society, the Resident Ultrasound, and Scholars awards.
