Chronic Constipation | Megan Shannon, MD
VWC urogynecologist, Dr. Megan Shannon, talks about a common challenge many women face but may be too embarrassed to talk about: chronic constipation.
Today, there are so many treatment options available to women. Don’t suffer in silence. Dr. Shannon and the VWC Pelvic Health Team can help. 804.288.4084
Dr. Shannon is passionate about helping women understand their bodies, and takes time to explain their pelvic anatomy and how the pelvic floor muscles can affect their bladder and bowel symptoms. She recognizes many women are hesitant to talk about pelvic pain, bladder, bowel or prolapse issues and she wants to change that. “I love to talk about healthy bladder and bowel habits, which can help a woman, and also allow her to talk to her friends or daughters about healthy habits. During a visit, I want to understand a patient’s concerns fully, to educate her about her body, and for her to leave feeling empowered, hopeful and knowing that together we can manage her issues.” Don’t suffer in silence. Dr. Shannon and the VWC Pelvic Health Team can help. 804.288.4084
Megan B. Shannon, MD joined Virginia Women’s Center in 2018 and practices at our Short Pump, Mechanicsville and Midlothian locations. As a Urogynecologist, Dr. Shannon has been specialty trained in medical and surgical options for women with pelvic floor disorders.
