“I’m incredibly excited about this next phase in my career. Working with young patients is particularly fulfilling for me, and I look forward to guiding them through their unique health journeys with care and compassion. There are only a very small handful of gynecologists trained in the specialized care of this population, and having worked with children and teens with gynecologic concerns for the last several years has allowed me to hone my skill at forming a quick alliance that makes me feel that I am truly making a difference in their current and future lives. Not to be forgotten though, I still remain deeply committed to continuing the gynecological care of the many adult women whom I’ve had the pleasure to build relationships with during my 10+ years at Virginia Women’s Center.” – Dr. Eryn Clipp
New this fall, Dr. Eryn Clipp will no longer see obstetrical patients as she shifts her focus to gynecology, with a special emphasis on pediatric and adolescent gynecology (PAG). Dr. Clipp’s extensive experience in PAG makes her uniquely qualified to care for the very youngest patients, from birth to adulthood, ensuring they receive the specialized care they need. She is excited to continue caring for the many women she’s built relationships with over the past ten years.
Dr. Clipp is enthusiastic about this new chapter in her career as it will allow her to fully utilize her expertise to address the unique challenges and concerns of pediatric and adolescent patients. Her decision to concentrate on gynecology, particularly for younger patients, aligns with her passion for providing compassionate, comprehensive care during these critical stages of development.
Teen Gynecology: Establishing a Trusting Relationship
Most teens start seeing an OB/GYN physician between the ages of 13 and 15. This early start helps establish a relationship of trust, setting the foundation for lifelong reproductive health. Dr. Eryn Clipp understands how important it is for teens to feel comfortable and supported during these visits. Dr. Clipp and many other Virginia Women’s Center providers offer exceptional teen gynecology.
Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
Pediatric and adolescent gynecology (PAG) specifically addresses the unique needs of the very youngest patients (infancy to age 13). This includes managing congenital conditions, like reproductive tract anomalies, and offering guidance on fertility and fertility preservation issues. Dr. Clipp also helps teens navigate medical and endocrine conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and delayed puberty. Additionally, she provides care for structural gynecologic conditions, ensuring that any concerns related to reproductive health are addressed with expertise and sensitivity. Dr. Clipp’s additional training and focus make her exceptionally qualified to care for patients needing her expertise.
By building a strong, trusting relationship early on, Dr. Clipp aims to empower her young patients with the knowledge and support they need to navigate their changing bodies and take charge of their reproductive health.
