Meet McKenzie Atkinson, MPA, PA-C! McKenzie is a passionate women’s healthcare provider at the Mechanicsville and Short Pump locations of Virginia Women’s Center.

Growing up, McKenzie’s fascination with medicine led her to discover the rewarding role of a physician assistant. It wasn’t until her obstetrics and gynecology PA school rotations at Virginia Women’s Center that she found her passion for women’s health, feeling drawn to the specialty and the incredibly supportive team environment.

McKenzie’s goal is to empower her patients, making them feel educated and heard at every visit. From first periods to menopause and beyond, she’s dedicated to helping women navigate life changes with confidence. McKenzie finds true fulfillment in those “aha” moments when her patients understand their symptoms or regain their quality of life.

Beyond patient care, McKenzie’s adventurous spirit shines. As a foodie, she loves exploring farmers’ markets and putting a healthy twist on recipes. Her travel bug keeps her on the move, whether hiking in the mountains or cycling through new destinations. Community service is also close to her heart, from volunteering to mentoring future PA students.

McKenzie’s Virginia roots run deep, having earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and her master’s degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. With a friendly and bubbly personality, along with a commitment to excellence and service, McKenzie is here to ensure you receive the best care possible every step of your personal health journey.
