Meet Nicole Shaver, WHNP-BC!  Nicole is a dedicated women’s health nurse practitioner at Virginia Women’s Center’s West End location. From a young age, Nicole’s passion for nursing and medicine was evident as she created makeshift hospitals for her dolls, complete with IV bags crafted from ziplock bags and cardboard EKG monitors.

As a nurse practitioner, Nicole strives to ensure that every patient feels heard and leaves each appointment with new insights into their health. She finds particular joy in working with teenagers and young adults, empowering them with the knowledge they need to lead healthy lives. For Nicole, prevention is key!

Nicole sees herself first and foremost as an educator. With experience gained at Planned Parenthood and the Health Department, she understands that each patient’s circumstances are unique, and she is committed to providing non-judgmental personalized care tailored to their needs.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys outdoor activities such as camping in yurts with her family, reading, and working out with her neighborhood friends. She is a proud parent of two young children and a cat parent to Cleocatra.
