Dr. Kristin Schraa attended Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Medical College of Virginia. She joined Virginia Women’s Center in 1998 and practices at our Mechanicsville office.

In 2012, Dr. Schraa retired from obstetrics to focus her practice on gynecology. She enjoys caring for women of all ages and has particular interest in adolescent health, reproductive issues, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and perimenopause. Dr. Schraa is also experienced in gynecologic surgery and offers the MonaLisa© laser procedures for the treatment of vaginal atrophy. She is passionate about breast cancer screening and serves as the Executive Director of Breast Health Services at Virginia Women’s Center.

Dr. Schraa is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Ware-Dunn Society.

Dr. Schraa and her husband, a pharmacist, spend as much time as possible with their two sons. She stays active in her children’s school and extracurricular activities. The four enjoy relaxing at home in Mechanicsville and traveling as much as possible. Dr. Schraa likes to unwind by sewing, baking and playing basketball.
