Jessica Michaels, DMSc, PA-C, is a physician assistant at the Mechanicsville location of Virginia Women’s Center.

Jessica is a lifelong learner with an adventurous spirit! She enjoys caring for women at every stage of life, whether it’s routine wellness visits or navigating more complex health concerns. Jessica believes in listening first, building trusting relationships, and taking time for each patient. 

Jessica was drawn to women’s healthcare through her volunteer work in high school with the National Sexual Assault Hotline, where she saw firsthand the difference compassionate care, patient education, and advocacy can make during some of life’s most difficult moments. That experience shaped her commitment to creating a safe, welcoming space where every woman feels heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions about her health.

 Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Christopher Newport University before completing both her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) at Shenandoah University.

Her passion for women’s health extends beyond our borders. Jessica completed a women’s health clinical rotation in Guam, caring for mothers and babies, and participated in a medical mission trip to Nicaragua, providing care to communities with limited access to healthcare.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys everything Richmond has to offer—from exploring local restaurants and farmers’ markets to spending time with family, friends, and her much-loved dog. She also loves staying active, reading, traveling, and escaping to the mountains or the beach whenever she can.
